About Motivator K

Kamilah Clark, a resident of Newark, NJ was born four months premature with hydrocephalus---water on the brain. A tube was place in her brain to drain the fluid and she was given two years to live.

Her parents were told that if she survived longer than two years, she would be mentally retarded.  Now at 27, Kamilah has beaten the odds. She shows no trace of mental retardation and is currently a Caldwell College graduate with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing a Masters in Mental Health Counseling.

Kamilah graduated third in her high school class. She has also participated in such programs as America Reads, YMCA Before-School Program, Urban League of Essex County, and Americorps throughout her college years.

Kamilah started a blog known as "The Phenomenal You Within". Her goal is to inspire young women to become more than what society says they are. She wants to spread her story and let them know that is not about where you are from, but all about where you are going. Young women need to know that they can do more, be more and have more in this life!
